Hey oriole fan! i'm right there with you. i am actually quite entertained by this see-saw battle for second place between all the teams except the Sox. I agree, i have never seen anything like it. whoever heard of second place being 11.5 games out? I'm wondering if the orioles can miraculously stay in second place (albeit 11 games behind)...
well, as long as the yankees are sucking, its all fair game!

I'm not a Red Sox fan, but I'll answer it. If you are a Red Sox fan, you can't be laughing too hard becuz anything can happen. It is the beginning of the year and anything can happen. They might laugh a little, but if they laugh too much, and then they lose the lead, they will be laughed at.
The Red Sox will be happy just if the Yankees are sucking.

NO!! I never laugh at other teams. I remember all the times the Red Sox came ever so close only to lose out. As far ahead as they are now and as great as they are playing, I am sure even they will have a slump sometime during the season. No matter what, I will always root for them AND respect th other teams i the division and outside the division.
Chow!!

The one thing you'll learn about Red Sox fans (if you haven't already) is that they base their success solely on their relationship to the Yankees. Boston could be a .500 club, but if the Yankees were in last place they'd be happy. If Boston had won 8 out of 10, they'd be upset if the Yankees had won 9 out of 10.
I've never seen fans who so qualify their own team's success by first comparing it to another team's success (or lack thereof). Most normal fans are happy if their team is winning, unhappy if they're losing, and that's that. Boston fans are only happy if they are winning AND the Yankees are losing.

The only thing Red Sox fans know how to do is hate the Yankees. They are so stupid they can't even appreciate the fact that they won a world series in '04. Most of the time they just complain about everything. Laugh? They don't know how to laugh. You forget, we're talking about Red Sox fans, not the rest of baseball.

Seeing the Yankees suffer is something I truly treasure, and finally having the majority of the normally loud-mouthed and painfully arrogant Yankee fan quiet is a real pleasure.
The thing about it is, the Sox haven't even really clicked as a team yet.
Lugo--hitting around .240
Crisp--hitting around .240
Manny- Hitting around .265 with 7 or 8 homeruns
Ortiz--Hasn't hit a homer in over 50 at bats
Drew--Slumping for a month, hitting about .230
Wakefield and Schilling have been inconsistant.
Can you imagine what will happen when they get things together????

I have learned never to laugh to hard because as a die-hard fan I am used to NOT getting the last laugh, however, the lead we have right now is ridiculous and so I laugh at Steinbrenner and the Yanks..HA!
But really, it all comes down to baseball in OCTOBER!
GO SOX!

I am a Mets fan.
But the table can turn any moment.
And I am luck this year. But Mr. Baltimore been in your boat many times with the Mets. On Memorial Day many years the season was long over. Just waiting for football.
And Mr. Baltimore you do have a historic franchise with lots of winning years.
Your owners is a nut case.
