That's somewhat subjective. I'd start with the "Seven Summits," which includes the tallest mountain on each of the seven continents: There are actually nine mountains on the list, due to ambiguities in continental divisions: Mount Kilimanjaro (Africa), Vinson Massif (Antarctica), Mount Kosciuszko (Australian mainland), Carstensz Pyramid (Australian continent), Mount Everest (Asia), Mount Elbrus (Europe/Asia), Mont Blanc (Europe), Mount McKinley (North America), and Aconcagua (South America). To this list, I would add Hawaii's Mauna Kea, which is the world's tallest mountain if measured from base to peak.
