My ex is not paying her half of auto insurance($475), her $250 of health and since our son moved in with me while going to college she isn't paying her 1/3 of room and board. How is the best way to handle this? Do I need to get a lawyer?

First, call her and talk to her about this before taking any other action. If she doesn't want or think she should help then let it be known you will take the proper steps to get this remedied. If that doesn;t do the trick then get a lawyer to take care of it. It's always best to try and work it out between the two of you, this is your child and she should help. Good Luck

Dear Jim,

Absolutely, you need an attorney. Any money that your ex owes you because of a court order from the divorce must be enforced, or why bother with the court? If you let her past support pile up, it will be very hard for you to collect. She is counting on your inertia. Don't wait. She needs to understand that the rules apply to each of you. You are doing your part, she needs to do hers. She isn't cheating you, she's cheating her son. I can understand why you got a divorce.
