Yes it is their club, they can pick and choose who is or isnt a member, besides how comfortable would you feel knowing you arent wanted?

I just started my own moms club, and its been great, there is a bigger more mature club in hamilton, and i am getting some heat from them, but i dont care its a free country.

on that note, my club as is the other one is non profit, but that doesnt mean anything, i dont get money from the government to help with things, we do it all on our own.

They have the right...its their club...rude of course but not illegal.

Yes they can. I use to run our local moms club. When requesting to start a club you have to speak with the organizers and they decide on which areas will be covered. This was the hardest part of getting my group started. We wanted to include both bigger towns in my area since they use the same resources but they wouldnt let us. We had to pick the bigger town. They told us that if anyone from the other town wanted to join they would have to start their own. It really divided our group. :(

I like MOMS club but they have a TON of rules that just didnt work for alot of people in my area. I ended up leaving the group and they disbanned not much later.

Have you thought about checking meetup.com? Thats where my current playgroup met years ago and we're constantly getting new members.

Yes they can. Infact, because they are not an employer, and not a for-profit, they can exclude anyone for any reason. They are being courteous by giving a reason. They don't have to.

yes. can your child play baseball for a little league that's meant for kids that live in a town 10 miles away? no, because he doesn't live within the necessary boundaries.
