"Neon Nuptials" - Ken Van Vechten
Ken knows more about getting married in LV than anyone. You can ask him a Q if you like. Go to the forums on the Las Vegas Advisor web site and address your Q to Ken_2V . Ken spends a lot of time there unless he's away on a writing assignment.

You can still have a las vegas wedding and have a reception with family. There is a trend that is becoming very popular with couples...having the wedding on a night during the week, say Thursday or Friday...and then have a reception on another night, say a Friday or a Saturday. That way he can have his small ceremony with your close fmaily and friends, and he won't have to be the center of attention...and you can still have a huge party afterwards to celebrate with everyone!! If you are going to do that, make sure you word the invitations properly...there is a certain etiquette about writing invitations to the party because after the day of the wedding it is no longer called a reception, but the party honoring you and your new husband. Talk to him about it...he might change his mind. It is all about compromse.

I would check out The Garden of Love. My husband and I got married just the 2 of us in December. We decided to make is special for us by going out to the Valley of Fire, but they do just about everything . They have three chapels,a drive up window, and will marry you at pretty much any location in or around Vegas that you would like. You can get gowns and tuxes and hair and makeup all done through them. They were not the absolute cheapest place we could find but we paid (with tips and all) About $800 dollars. The day we got into tow they picked us up at our hotel in a limo to go and get our marriage license, they day of the wedding they picked us up again, we we then picked up the photographer and videographer at the chapel and they drove us to the Valley of Fire about an hour outside of Vegas. The Minister met us there. We took photos all over the park and had our ceremony on the rocks. We then drove back to the chapel were they made us Cd's with the photos which were all ours to do with as we please and gave us the DVD with the video. We were then dropped off at our restaurant for our dinner. They treated us great and gave me more flowers and pictures than for what we paid for.
If nothing else take a look at the sight.

My husband and I got married at the Little Chapel of the West across from Mandalay Bay with two friends as witnesses.
I think our wedding cost a whopping $260 dollars, and that was for the ceremony, a bouquet, a boutoniere, a certificate holder, and a photographer. The pictures were AWESOME - so we of course ordered some more. It was a brief, but lovely ceremony.
I would get my hair and makeup done at one of the casinos. I know the Venetian has a spa/salon that does bridal services. I can't tell you how much it is off the top of my head though.
Good luck and have a beautiful wedding!

It may not be the cheapest place in town but for a wedding you wont forget, consider the Stratosphere. We had our wedding there and it was incredible. There isnt a better back drop in town. We had a bigger event than you are planning but the staff was great in handling all of the details from the flowers down to the table clothes. We could have asked for more.
As for your hair and such, if you choose a major hotel you should be able to have that all done on site.

I got married at Excalibur and I've recommended it my friends who have gone and got married there too. The package was around $300.00 (this was a few years ago) and it came with lots of stuff flowers (nice), video, pictures, a hotel room and the rest of the ceremony. I got my hair and makeup done at the hotel as did the other people who I've recommended it to. I like the look of it (not so old as I've seen on other places). Check out the website, they should have pictures.

As for marriage, any one of the cheesy chapels will suit you. Of course, the Little White Wedding Chapel is famed for its many celebrity weddings. We're doing it at the Garden of Love. If you want to do it up a bit, go to the Venetian or Bellagio.
As for hair, make up and nails, you can get your nail done by any nail shop. Not a huge deal. As for hair, I have no clue. I'm having my hair done the day before I go. As for makeup, I'm going to have my makeup done for my wedding at M.A.C. at the Fashion Show Mall. It's free (you do have to purchase something though). Their number is (702) 731-5883. You can just call and make an appointment.

I got married there w/o any one else and I almost wish I told them so others could come and share the time with us.
The wedding chapels have intense competition. I suggest going to a wedding chapel on one of the casinos and reserve one of the beauty shops to do those things. Get the price before you make reservations.

I suggest getting married at a casino on the strip, it is much nicer. Check the websites for the casino you like, and each one should have different wedding packages. Me and my wife did it at MGM and it was great. She had her hair and makeup done at the salon there too, it was included in the package we chose. We did not have to pay for anything else. Good Luck.

hi there - try the website below that lets you search every wedding in Las Vegas by cost and themed or traditional ceremony. There is also an article in the free online magazine about venues suitable for small weddings.
Good luck!
