Tough to say. Some are obviously hoaxes, but a very large number defy explanation. I was impressed by the field in England that had was under servalance one night, and there was a crop circle there in the morning. I mean, for crying out loud, these things occur all over the world. What people or group of people COULD be doing it...and why? Logic dictates that there is something else at work here. Aliens? Why would they need to make crop circles if they are advanced enough technologically to actually travel such incredible distances?

It's amazing how the theories about crop circles being made by aliens are still around, despite the fact that two guys admitted they did it. Then they even demonstrated HOW they did it, thereby providing a handy methodology for other hoaxsters to follow. Most folks just hate to give up on a good alien conspiracy theory, even when there is irrefutable evidence that aliens had nothing to do with it.

Well..... its true a few losers go out and do them. But all of ain't explainable. Some are to vast and would take to long for a couple of nerds out in the middle of the night.....Go ahead check the web fo pics of crop circles and you be the judge =)

No, they are made by creative, albeit delinquent humans. (If it's not on their own property.) All of them. No exceptions. It is absurd to think that an advanced species would come across light years of space just to squash our crops with cryptic, ambiguous graffiti. No scientist from this planet would do something that dumb on another world with intelligent people, and anyone visiting us is already advanced far beyond our scientists. So, no, I don't think so.
If they wanted to communicate with us, they could send a simple radio transmission. (Oh yes, they would definitely know we have that technology long before they arrived here.) Safer, cheaper, less ambiguous, etc. Astronomers would realize it was coming from outer space.
