The democrats live on issues, not substantial solutions. These issues are all dire and critical emergencies while the election is going on - then they get the majority and all of a sudden its the minority party who is at fault that they can't get it done. At some point we will all pay for this strategy regarding issues like social security, immigration, terrorism, education, energy, and many others. We will not like the price!

All politicians -- Democrat, Republican, Independent, Green, or otherwise are concerned about winning their election and then their re-election.

However, it seems like the Republicans are sore losers to the extent that they would rather bog down a government with investigations than the actual running of the country. Newt Gingrich's Contract With America actually led up to the government shutting down due to unwillingness to budge over budget issues. And two years later, most of Gingrich's group were not re-elected. And then there's Monica-gate. Do we really believe that Clinton is the first to have been using the Oval Office for liasions when JFK and Marilyn Monroe merely extended the line started back in the 1800s?

Many of us seem to have forgotten the overwhelming *bilateral* support for the use of force in Iraq. It causes me to wonder if "changing their minds" was the Democratic party's plan from the start, or are they following the tide of popularity rather than leading this Nation, or did they genuinely vote that way accidentally? Perhaps one of our friends on the left can enlighten us as to their possible motivation.

It seems the Democrats support the "rights" of illegal immigrants to the United States also. There's quite a few million possible votes there too, isn't there? Will their presence benefit the US, or just pad the polls? Legal immigrants go through screening for diseases and parasitic infestations, etc. Those that enter illegally do not. While it may seem "nice" to help these poor people out, what cost to those here legally are you willing to pay? Concern for the health and well-being of my family does not constitute racism. The national origin or skin color of the person in question is not an issue. Perhaps one of our friends on the left can enlighten us again, as to their possible motivation.

Until such time as these questions are addressed to my satisfaction, I'm forced to believe that they care for popularity more than the fate of our Nation.

By winning the '08 election, the democrats ARE showing their concern for the country. We (the country) can't handle much more of what we've had for the last 6 years.

No thats the republicans. The Democrats are just waiting to finally take Bush and Chaney out, thank god. All Democrats want is to actual protect US ...thats not us but the U.S. which is where I was born and raised and have known all my life to be diplomatic and fair. However all that changed in the last 7 years didnt it? Now Im terribly afraid for our country, where its been and where its going to go. Im afraid that if there are any more incest that breed we will only have more Presidents like Bush to look forward to. Not to mention how stupid the rest of our population was voting him in a second time?! Now your all making us pay for your lack of spine. God help us.

i'm not so certain there is a clear distinction between the two parties anymore. sure, their rhetoric appeals to opposite ends of body politic, but this isnt reflected in legislation. and in my opinion the two parties primarily deal with "hot button" issues that really have little consequence to most peoples day to day lives. you know things like, prayer in schools, gays in military, and yes abortion. while everyone is fussing over these things, man, the fox is running lose in the hen house, (if you know what i mean).

it wasnt always this way. man, the reagen revolution was awesome, but somewhere along the way the republican party lost it's way. (for what it's worth i put a lot of the blame for this on gingrich and foley) it seems they, (we), thought we could do no wrong and politiacl compromise was lost, (i.e. our way or the highway).

i tried to go the libertarian route and found myself just wasting my vote....

but at this point, i think for any charge made against the demos, a equal, and justified charge can be made against the reps.

still though it's going to be interesting election coming up in 08! i can't wait to see what demo survives to take on a much maligned, but probably somewhat unified republican party.

Holy mom of Pearl! you're kidding, precise? is that this a humorous tale? sometimes it quite is annoying to tell. because of the fact we've discovered that elections is the only way we an save the rustic from going thoroughly down the crapper. except you carry the workplace, you in basic terms get pulled alongside via the incompetent boob who does. sort of like asking "Why are the passengers greater taken with the cockpit than the plane?" because it is going flying into the realm of a mountain. because of the fact without administration, we are all going to hit the realm of that mountain.

Remember to democrats it is having the office that is important not doing anything with it. The payoffs are better for doing nothing than getting things done. Check out the way Pelosi and Reid have kept congress from moving forward. They are more concerned about having media time than caring out the promises made while running for office.

I am not at all concerned about winning in 2008. It's a slam dunk. Hillary will raise the $500 million needed to win. I am more concerned about when Democrats will start the Impeachment of Bush and Cheney in the House.. My guess is that they will wait until just before elections in 2008..

of course. and the republicare absolutly no different. politicians want to remain in office so they do mwhatever they have to do to stay there, even start something that cannot be finished, or support some course of action which will eventually do nothing for people, but make a few corporations richer than they already are.
