One question for you before I answer yours:

What is your income per year?

Okay, a huge lie that liberals such as yourself like to pass along to the nieve is that tax cuts are only for the rich. So lets assume that they were.

Corporations hire people and need the revenue for payroll and infrastructure improvements. As noted in Micro/Macro Economics, businesses base their decisions on where to locate based on several factors to include:

(1) Education of the populus.
(2) Taxes for that area.

Taxes are regressive, they discourage business growth. What you need is the truth. Of course for liberals that is near impossible.

Tax cuts do not bankrupt the economy they expand the economy. Look at the Stock Market. I guess you will rail against the evils of people making record profits in stock and Mutual Fund investing.

In closing, the government doesn't bankrupt the economy, the mismanagement of personal assets by the people bankrupts the economy - that is living within our means.

Of course, "Liberalism 101/102" doesn't teach personal responsibility it teaches blaming Christians, and the Conservative Government for everything even if it's their own fault!

GOD Bless the "Great Generation" during and after World War II who sacrificed for this country and never whined about it!

If only our generation would be half the people that they were then we wouldn't have to hear people like yourself complain about taxes.

GOD Bless our Troops on this Memorial Day and GOD Bless the United States of America - love it or leave it!

If you leave, take Alec Baldwin, "The Dixie Chicks", and other libs with you!!!

I'm a moderate, and I have story for you which is TRUE. There was a "luxury tax" passed in the past, because it was thought that the wealthy would just pay it. What happened was that they did NOT pay it, and as a result a company named Carver Yachts, a small company in Wisconsin, which makes small water craft, had to lay off a bunch of its workers - you know - NOT rich people - because the orders just weren't there. Thus, as a result this tax didn't hurt the wealthy - it hurt "the average joe". As a result, this tax was eventually repealed. Taxes are a necessity to run government programs, but taxes NEVER help out the smooth free-flowing functioning of the economy (with the exception of the government programs of the Depression, which was an extreme case). Would you want YOUR money going to the government to do with it what they will, or would you prefer that it stayed with YOUR family so that you could help them and your friends out locally? Taxes ALWAYS interfere with a vibrant economy because the money goes to a "dead end" - the government. Of course, if you really want to fund Halliburton, etc., say nothing about where your taxes are going, or paying them. The issue isn't as simple as you make it out to be.

Hey libs think back to when taxes were much higher...you know Jimmy Carter days. How was the economy then?

Oh yeah it was in the toilet.
I'm nowhere near wealthy, but I have benefited from every tax cut Bush gave us.
What should be done is stop all of the entitlement programs that are out there. If people would get off their lazy backsides and get a job then taxes could be even lower. But you libs think everyone who is too lazy to work should get a handout...therefore we have these programs that require raising taxes.

To magma H, stop sounding like a moveon.org robot, site specifics if you want to sound even remotely intelligent! over 80 percent of the US. tax burden is payed by those making 100,000 dollars a year or more, those making under 20,000 dollars a year get all there tax money back so they pay nothing into the tax system! The only way to make taxes fair is if everyone pays the same, IE. people making 20,000 dollars or less pay 17%, 50,000, 17%, 100,000, 17% so and and so fourth, why should someone in this country pay more taxes for being successful, that notion is completely ridiculous! Everyone should pay exactly the same!

Nope, taxes are never too low. I think it was the late, great Milton Friedman who said "When you cut taxes and the economy grows, all that says is you need to cut taxes more."

And stop fooling yourself with your tired leftist rhetoric, the "rich" pay the vast majority of the taxes and of course should logically be the biggest beneficiary of any tax cut.

For the record, I am not a "neo-con". Just a devout libertarian. Let the lefty hissing begin.

So you think four people trying to get by on family income of $151,000 a year in California (33% tax - $50,000 = $101K to live in CA) have it easier than a single person in any state on $71,000 (25% tax – $17,500 = $53.5K to live in let us say Kansas). Look up cost of goods, housing etc. and you’ll see the person in Kansas is RICHER when it comes to disposable $$ and power of purchase.

Then additionally figure in that the family has 4 people, so that’s 4 people living on a net 101K as opposed to 1 person on 53K. (figure in cost of diapers if young enough, daycare [if not HS age] through the summer months when school is out, as opposed to a single person in any state is equal in your eyes? You have blinders on if you think so.)

You call that family struggling to get by, “rich whiners” and try to caste them, while calling Bush’s tax cuts favoritism to a class, simply based upon their earnings. That’s similar in behavior to a person who judges someone based upon skin color, how they look or language spoken without regard to who they are as a person.

In the 1930s, Americans were taxed 1 dollar for every 50 dollars earned. In the 80s, it was 1 for every 4 dollars earned, today if you earn more than $150,000 (husband and wife both working utilizing their college degrees they paid for and earned and trying to make it in California) its 1 for every 3 dollars earned.

At the time of the revolution was waged over taxes FAR LOWER than 1950 and yet Some think this is still too LOW?
President Franklin D. Roosevelt said, " I do not believe than anyone in the united states should earn more than $22,000. I believe ALL earnings over this amount should go to the government" [To subsidize those that earn less] (I would venture he didn’t think that should include him as president)
Now honestly, who would work?

Lower Taxes stimulate spending. If I, You, anyone, earns more, they spend more. People live to their means at any earning level. The places they spend money at hire more people, expand. When People are not spending, there are layoffs, companies shrink.

The "rich whiners" as you put it do not necessarily start a business and add the job personally, but their spending does.
The tax rates are staggered by ability to pay, low end is 10%, [I think that it could be lower for those MOST in need]. The top rate 35% (more than 1:3) but it is more affordable to them so they shoulder more burden.

If you cut the rate 10% (from 35% to 25% top, 10% to 0% bottom) for ALL brackets, is that really cutting it if favor of the “RICH Whiners”? If the lower brackets paid ZERO income tax that would favor the rich?

A 2% across the board is working towards just this goal, yet the smoke and mirrors says that family making $151K is getting more back than that poor person in Kansas making $71K. If the same percentage break were given each time, eventually the lower brackets would pay nothing!

It is giving everyone the same percentage of earnings break to everyone. Of course there is more $$ given back to the top group, they are paying more. The tax is percentage based, the reduction is percentage based. What type of shell game you want to play? TAX on percentage, rebate on fixed rate? (A $1000 rebate to all, would be a 1:71 rebate for the Kansas single person, and a 1:151 rebate to the family of 4 who probably need it more)

Isn’t it a bit ironic. When the liberal socialistic viewpoints about people are applied, its only to a group, typically for political reasons. [Catering to the anxiety of a larger group pandering for votes] They say everyone should be treated equally, but then again, they want to define equal to include the groups they want to give preference too.

I supposed you agree with Roosevelt and figure socialism is the best and no one should earn over a certain $$ amount. Beyond that you become a rich whiner family of 4, not caring for anyone but yourself and your family.

[Ironically - Franklin Roosevelt was in favor of Cut Cuts, Giant sweeping tax cuts for New York, until the economy of the nation turned bad, then he turned 180 an developed socialistic programs and went tax crazy]

when people work hard for their money they should not be penalize! however you failed to understand that when the people who have the money to spend and they put it back in the economy thereby creating news jobs for those who needs it. why should people who have less should be given charity when they have two capable hands and the means to earn their living allow them to be self sufficient give to those who needs the means to maintain their self respect and contribute to society no matter how small their contributions is. by doing so you give something much more valuable their self steam, a sense of worth!

No, taxes are never too low. If you think giving a tax break to someone who will in turn give the community jobs is bad then there is no hope for you.
