I replaced the alternator fuse 80A on bf car (1999 mitsubishi lancer) car started the first time, now does not... is the battery flat and require a charge???

test the system
charge battery
re test the fuse ......use test light
test power at alternator .......test light
start car test voltage at alt and battery 13.5 t0 14.7 ....use volt meter
after batery is charged test batery can be done in car with volt meter pull fuel pump fuse and crank the car for 30 seconds if the voltage drops below 10 volts buy a interstate battery

If your changing a 60 amp fuse,I would check the alternator,for an internal short. Take the big wire off the back of the Alternator, see if problem goes away,by replacing the fuse again, very carefully,actually as soon as the fuse touches the metal part of fuse holder and sparks heavy ,or blows the fuse again,then check the big wire going to the alternator.
