Did it flower the first season? How large does the fruit get? I'm thinking of a banana or orange tree.

Avocado seeds here's how: 1. Eat the avocado. Be careful when removing the seed so that you do no put any cuts in the seed. From my experience, it doesn't matter what type of avocado you go for. I bought the one I used the first time at Safeway! 2. Wash all of the avocado remnants from the seed 3. Poke three toothpicks into the side of the seed so that it can perch, halfway immersed in water, on the rim of your container. Set the seed with its base (the wider portion) down. 4. The seed will germinate within a few months (or sooner if you live in a warm climate). The water should be changed at least every couple of weeks, before it gets dirty and depleted of oxygen 5. Pot your tree into a container with soil. When you have substantial roots, and the tree has started growing out of the top of the seed, you should replant the seed into soil. Just get some ordinary potting soil and a relatively large container. A pot with 8-12" diameter should do the trick. 6. Plant the tree. Plant the seed so that about half of it is underground. 7. Harvest your Crop! (*note - may take 3-4 years :) Avocado trees can grow up to 65 feet in the ground and are a manageable house plant and can be grown in doors in pots and if the leaves start to turn yellow this means over watering and if the leaves are turning brown this means under watering.

your talking about high breads from Gardeners-choice. banana takes a long time to get the first bunch 3yrs for very little out put. all other fruit trees are find and the fruit is larger than usual. my best grower right now is my 3 in 1 cherry tree planted this yr and is already growing super fast. I got also in the ground a fruit salad tree and a 5 in 1 apple. both doing fine. these are for outside growing. inside the best plants are strawberries and tomato's banana will grow inside nicely to but not worth it I tryed and after 2 yrs i gave up on that one. all the rest are doing great. just follow the planting instructions that come with the plant. and you will get a great yield of fruit every year cause there plants are all self pollination and bread to be decease free. Good Luck and happy planting.

I had a lemon. It flowered bore small fruit that never ripened then died. It was frustrating. Now I'm growing a cooffee tree. It's doing great. Logees is a catalog that sells cool plants. They are probably on line. Check them out. By the way, my lemon tree was not from them.
