You do have a firewall, because Windows comes with a one way firewall. Not really a good firewall, being you are only protected from incoming rogue packets.

Go to start, control panel, security center and turn off the Windows Firewall.

After you turn of the Windows firewall, you really need to have a true firewall to protect your system.. I suggest that you use the free for home personal use, Zone Alarm. Download their free home personal use at: http://www.zonealarm.com

When installed, you will set the rules as to what you want to allow to come in and go out. Always check of the box in the tray for Zone Alarm, "remember", what you allow, or Zone Alarm will ask you again the next time. Once you have set all your rules Zone Alarm will remember and block all rogue incoming packets, plus prevent personal data from leaving your pc without your permission.

You get daily automatic updates if needed, and all new version download automatic over the old version.

Yes, good answer #1.
Another thought; could it be the Windows Firewall blocking you? Try creating an exception in Windows Firewall, if so.

Are you using a router? A router is a hardware firewall.
