Yeah, I can remember my brother always gave a certain response to whenever someone would say, "I saw a colored person the other day." My brother would quickly respond, "Oh yeah, what color was he?"
To others who have responsed: often times new borns have a bluish tint when first out of the womb. All three of my kids did.

My sister told this to me a few months ago, but in the form of a 'serious' story. She didn't have the sun bit but she did have the embarassed 'red' bit. The setting of the story was a cafe and a white man asked a black man to move from his seat so he could sit there as there were no other seats available. He said that coloured people did not belong there and that is when the black man replied with the above paragraph and the white man did turn red eventually....

A black work colleague of mine said the same thing a few months ago when complaining about 'white people' calling her 'coloured' - in fact she added 'when white people are embarrassed they go red!'.
I agree it is funny - I have never got the 'coloured' thing, you are white, brown, black but not 'coloured'!

Anyone who's born blue is very sick. And black babies are born white. ALL babies are born beautiful. Let's keep it that way by not turning them into racists with silly t-shirts.

The T make a good point but the word "colored" has not been used to refer to African-Americans for a long time.
