I was walking by this mosque at night(on my way home) and there was this entire group of men who were loudly whistling at me and making all kinds of smooching noises just to get my attention! I mean, they are such hypocrites right? They pretend to be so religious and yet they can't even control themselves in front of a girl walking by! And I also know they spread hate and treat women like second class citizens or something. what do you guys think?!?

Hey, you guys are right! I guess there are good and bad people in every religion, race and nationality! Just for the record, I don't have anything against Muslims until today! It's just that I was so embarrased and angered by their behaviour! I mean, it was their place of worship and they did this, what if it was on a deserted stretch of road or something?!? I am definitely not taking that route to my home ever again! On that note, I am sorry about my question, I definitely didn't phrase it properly and I didn't mean to generalize! I am sorry to all the wonderful muslims who are decent who might be offended by my question!

To make such a stereotype shows your ignorance and how easily you're influenced by the media and their distorted truth about Islam. After all, I doubt you would say such a thing about Catholics even though several priests have been accused of raping children, which is far worst than several men whistling at an adult woman. Every religion, every culture, and among both sexes, there are those who are good and there are those who are bad. Most Muslims are peace loving ppl and they do not treat their women as bad as the media would have you believe. Although I highly doubt you will, I hope you open up eyes and actually interact with some Muslims. You'll be surprised at what wonderful ppl they truly are.

They are not the sickest people on the planet... unfortunately, these men were some serious hypocrites. Yes, women are treated as second class citizens, but that is in any non-Christian country in the world.
Of the sickest people on the planet, some have already come and gone (just a few examples, though there are many):
- Hitler & the Nazi's
- the various tribes that practiced human sacrifice, all over the world
- Rwanda: genocide, and mutilation
- the Apaches were some of the most violent and tortuous tribes in North America
- the English, when they took over Scotland
- the Spanish, French Portuguese and English... when they were busy "colonizing" the world... many indigenous people died for nothing but greed
Others are still wreaking havoc today:
- look at the atrocities in Darfur (mutilation of children, women, etc.), just because one looks different from the other
- study the ongoing conflict in Pakistan
- the IRA, and "The Real IRA"
It's sad, but there are many hypocrites in the world... that's just a side effect of being human. There are many hypocrites in this world, and not just in the religious aspect... political, humanitarian (deciding which group is MORE important), moral, etc.
Don't lose hope, just do your part to try to make a positive change in this world.

I understand how upset you were but men do that regardless of their religion. You should never have made such a comment in the first place. I am sure they were not the first guys to ever do that to you.
Also, whether or not you want to admit, you are prejudice. I'm sure you never narrowed in on the race or religion of any other guy that whistled at you the way you did with Muslims. That speaks volumes about who you are.

I do feel sorry for you in that you would condemn a whole religion based on the acts of a few.
Would you say catholicism is the sickest religion because they killed tens of thousands during the great crusades? Or because they have some members who bomb abortion clinics & kill innocent women?

You obviously do. I don't for one, and I'm Christian. Don't judge a whole religious group by a few of people whose behaviour you didn't approve of. This is a very prejudice behaviour, even if the incident was disturbing. It could have been a Christian, a Buddhist, but it happened to be a Muslim. I'm sorry this happened to you, but your reaction is quite unfair. Hope I helped, that's just my opinion! xx

Can i disagree with you?
I got the most loveliest friend who is Muslim. She is the best in the world. I totally disagree with you. Not all Muslims are like that. Just the extreme ones. My friend is full of harmony and does not want to fight. She is better than most people i see from different religions every day. I disagree. Sorry.. Erm, some of them do this but some of them don't. Some men are like that but then you can see men from any religion or ethnic background do that.

Not all of them, but some of them. I'm really sorry for what happened. D: But, you could say that all Christians are bad because there was a group that wasn't so good, or with any other group. It really depends who it is. There might be a really nice person who is a Muslim. That was really disrespectful though.

Not all Muslims are like that. You cant generalize a whole a group of people based on a few idiots. Yes in a lot of countries in the middle east women are treated like crap. Yes it is hypocritical.
