Here Comes the Sun King
John Lennon wrote this.
The foreign part of the song is a garbled mixture of Spanish , Portugese and Italian, which roughly translates to: "When for much my love of happy heart, world paparazzi my love green for warm sun, hill as much much that small carousel."
Paparazzi is also used in English to describe freelance photographers who hang around the homes and haunts of the famous hoping to take a picture they can sell.
In 2006, a backwards version of this song called "Gnik Nus" was included on the album Love, which was a soundtrack to the Cirque du Soleil show featuring the music of The Beatles.
Here are the lyrics
Here comes the sun king
Here comes the sun king
Everybody's laughing
Everybody's happy
Here comes the sun king
Quando paramucho mi amore de felice carathon
Mundo paparazzi mi amore cicce verdi parasol
Questo abrigado tantamucho que canite carousel
The foreign words were put together as a joke and don't really mean anything. It was just a collection of words that John thought sounded like an Italian type love song and to typify the image of a vain person.
As with 'Being For The Benefit of Mr Kite' John's opinuions of 'Sun King' came to alter over the years but this time changing from good to bad. In 1971 he referred to it as being something that came to him in a dream implying that it was an inspired piece of work. By 1980 he revalued it to 'just another piece of garbage'. Historically the Sun King was Louis VIV of France and it could be that he that John dreampt about, a dream where the king enetered his palace to find all his guests were happy and laughing. The closing lines to the song are composed of those Italina, Spanish and Portugese words that tourists pick up and strung together in no particular order, paparazzi, obrigato, parasol, mi amore. The original title of the song was 'Los Paranoias'. According to George Harrison the point of musical departure was Fleetwood Mac's 'Albatross', a dreamy instrumental which had been a Top 10 hit in the early part of 1969.
