Haven't asked one of these for a while. Let's see how many Zevon fans we have.

Thanks!

one million. Desperadoes under the Eaves 2. by possibility Like a Martyr Warren Zevon grow to be extraordinarily underrated, not in basic terms in R&P yet everywhere. that's actually criminal that he never have been given a Grammy nomination in his lifetime. And all those great comments of his albums never translated into any of his albums making "500 the best selection albums" lists.

Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner

hmm, i love warren

obviously "werewolves " is great

lawyers guns and money is also one of my faves.
roland the headless thompson gunner is good, but look for a song called frank and jesse james, i think it was an early demo of roland. pretty similar melodies.

look for "my s**t's effed up" a song he wrote right aroudn the time he found out he had cancer. wierd song to write when you find out you are dying.

and for cover songs, i love his "raspberry beret" and "knockin on heaven's door"

check out the novelist carl hiaason. he is one of my faves and was a great friend of warren. in every book he mentions warren atleast once. he wrote the book that the movie striptease was based on. the movie sucked, but the book was genius.
also the novel "basketcase" features a song written by warren by the same name.

Poor, Poor Pitiful Me. Any song that can work the classic "whoa-whoa" fill-in and make it part of the lyrics - "Woe-ohhhh is me" is alright!
