i bought a 64 malibu i thought but ran vin# came back as a 65 300 custom deluxe never heard of one has any body heard of one if so please let me know before i messup while being restored thanks

The proper name is Chevelle 300 Custom Deluxe. It was the basic economy trim level car below the Malibu. Frequently built with a small inline 6-cylinder engine and 2-speed automatic or 3-speed manual (column shift) transmission.

a 65 300 custom is a Chrysler. try rechecking the VIN number again in case you made an error
