I would have to say Otto Graham. He played for the Cleveland Browns from 1946 to 1955 for some of those years in the AFL before the Browns converted to the NFL. Otto's career record in the American Football League was 52-4-3. In his four years in the AFL he had 88 Touchdowns and a passer Rating of 99.1. He led the AFL in passing yards all four years he was there. But probably the most impressive thing he did while he played in the AFL was win the Championship four straight times.

If you are talking about the AFL Arena football league. I would Have to go with current quarterback Clint Dolezel he is currently playing for the Dallas Desperadoes. He has over 830 touchdowns and over 40,400 yards. He also has a career passer rating of over 117.

If, by AFL, you are speaking of the Arena league, I can't help you. That game bores me.
If you mean the old American Football League, I would have to name a few, such as John Hadl, Daryl Lamonica, Joe Namath, and Len Dawson.

If you want the best AFL QB and not the best AFC QB then you want George Blanda. His 36 td's in a season stood as a record until Dan Marino broke it. His Houston Oilers won the first afl championships and lost the third in a double overtime. He was a great AFL QB. Great enough to be in the hall of fame today.

The Houston Oilers. I don't think that color combo has been tried by anyone since then. I'd get myself a 34 Earl Campbell blue home jersey...that would be sick! The Bills had a good look. The white helmet on the blue was a nice crisp look, wish they'd bring it back. I would've said the Raiders, but that look is so classic they have never had a need to change it.

John Hadl and Jackie Kemp had very good careers.
Len Dawson.
Joe Namath won the first super bowl.
They are all pretty good in the listing.

Kurt Warner. He moved up to the NFL and won the Super Bowl with the Rams.

You gotta go with Joe Namath. Without his super bowl 3 win the NFL as we know it today could have been oddly different.

Clint Dolezel.

As much as I'd like to admit I don't really like the guy, I would have to go with Blanda. Probably the cream of the crop from that group.
