We know the limit to the "Observable Universe" - 13 billion light years in every direction. This is simply the part of the Universe that we can see, because light has had "only" approximately 13.7 billion years in which to reach us on Earth. However, the Universe has been expanding FASTER than light for this time. In all likelihood it is unknowably vast.

According to the astro-physicist Alex Fillipenko, the scale of the actual universe to the observable universe is the same as the scale of the observable universe to a proton!

In other words, the universe is HUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGE!!!!!!

The Universe is an inverse manifold that has no limit. If you went in a straight line you would end up back at the same place you already are. The problem is the Universe is expanding faster than you could ever go so it would seem to you that you just go on forever.

The estimated distance of the Universe containing mass is aprox 1.42 x10^26 meter radius . However this may only be one third of the total radius of the Universe. The rest of the volume may just be space structure that serves as the restrain that keep the Universe in a containment.

In general, it keeps on expanding, but scientists aren't really sure who will win; the gravity, which leads to contraction, or forever expansion.
