Not a shocking comparison--it's a preview of what will happen in the US if the socialists get control of our government. Westhill is quite wrong--Pelosi's 'fairness doctrine' will limit free speech and is an attempt to silence talk radio--as it is what Americans listen to (much like Venezuela's recently silenced TV station).
Ash--please take notice--If American's wanted to hear that --they'd have tuned in. We have tuned out your lib propaganda (Air America). No one is stopping you libs from having your own stations--it's just that no one will listen to them! What Pelosi is proposing is EXACTLY what Chavez is doing in Venezuela!

It's a false comparison. There's no legislation to take Rush and Savage off the air.
There is a bill to stop gas price gouging but there's a big difference between price gouging and honest profits.

There is a movement to add equal time provisions-since cons dominate radio it only means adding libs instead of playing constant reruns of your cons.
There is a movement to investigate price gouging by oil companies and gas stations but they never go anywhere.
