show some class and wear dark stockings to the interview.

although it si not your intention to make a statement, some people are actaully really offended by tatoos. Holocaust survivors (and their children), who were tatooed like animals against their will, by the Nazis.

So if that person sitting in front of you would have such a strong reaction, do you really need to provoke that in an interview?

Once you have the job, the other comments in this blog apply -- see what others are doing. If you don't see any other tatoos, don't show yours either -- there may be something you don't know about.

You probably will have to cover it, especially if you work with the public or with business customers or suppliers. This shouldn't be a problem, because most professional attire doesn't show the ankle. Just wear socks or opaque tights.

It entirely depends on the employer and the nature of the tattoo.
I know a lot of teachers with tattoos and some with facial piercings, no one objects to them and their employer hasn't asked for them to be removed (not sure they could ask for them to be removed once they've been employed anyway).
I know some police forces do not allow visible tattoos, but it really does depend on the individual employer.

Rather depends on the job, the attitude of your employers and whether you would be customer facing or not.
I'd suggest covering it to start with then bringing up the subject once you are working somewhere to guage reaction.

In what professional sort of jobs do you normally show your ankle?! I reckon you can get away with it.

No, not unless it is explicit in some way and could give offense to others.

e.g.
If it is a teenage agnst that says f*** you it might draw a little criticism or even a few offers depending on the reader lol

If you own your own business, no covering of any body parts is necessarily required. If you are hot... show some skin. If you're interviewing for a position in which the interviewer has visible tattoos, show it off. You'll connect and get the job!

If he asks you to "give him something" - ask him if you'll get the job, if so, go for it! Take one for the team.
