"..ain't no river wide enough -- to keep me from yooouuuu..."

I've always loved that song.
And it sort of applies to my sweetie and me ( you know--bluedevil, me , the Chardonnay --hehe) . We met here on Yahoo ! A. by the way.
He and I live about 550 miles apart, I will be visiting him in 11 days and moving to be with him in early August. And there sure 'ain't' no mountain, valley, river , or anyone, or anything that will keep us apart.
And thanks so much for the dedication --very thoughtful of you. to think so highly of us all on here.

Aint no river wide enough to keep me from you

What a nice song and it certainly makes me think of my baby who lives 550 miles from me as there is nothing that can keep us apart. She is the woman of my dreams and will be coming to Atlanta for a visit in June and forever in August. Thank you so much for the dedication.

Nick Ashford & Valerie Simpson wrote those words. Very nice. He was in NYC at the time and she was in Los Angeles. He was missing her and came up with the lyric after looking at the tall buildings in Manhattan and then looking at the ground. He went back to his hotel room and called her and they wrote some of the song over the phone.
Ah, true love.

Yes, for the person you love, then there is nothing that will get in the way. Except no transportation!

Thanks, Clo

For my family, 'tis true. I was separated by the Atlantic Ocean from my (now) husband for 18 months when we were engaged. So "ain't no ocean wide enough".

Yes in a way, but realistically no I don't believe it. There are some circumstances in life where you just can't go any further.
