No, he shouldn't. He's still got a good few years of cricket left in him. He's just made 2 more test centuries. This is proof to show that he is still in form. We can't expect him to churn out good innings in every single match like he used to, he has
been playing for nearly 20 years, things are bound to change. I think people should give him a break and accept that whether or not he performs well in each match, his presence in the team still gives other players a boost, and still today his wicket is desperately sought for by the opposite team.

It's fair to say that he should give youngsters a chance but one player going isn't going to give the hundreds of new players a place in the team. Youngsters are already making their way into the team anyway.

McGrath was 37 when he retired and he was still at the peak of his career. Sachin is 34 and has shown that he can still help his team to win. A player's retirement should be his own choice, or should come as a result of poor performance. Sachin hasn't shown any at the moment.

I'm still waiting for him to get his centuries to a record total of 50 before he can go anywhere!

Why is everyone thinking about Searching to get retire ?

Well, yes...he is old enough but what about others players who are still playing from a long time take example Australian Players, New Zealand players or even Sri Lankan players, they are still continuing cause they know when to get retire and when to play. They are professionals and they have some what common sense about what they are playing.

I think Searching has more years in him where he can play cricket and I think he can still play until 20 years of cricket. He would be damn available for Next World Cup, he is a great legend and I think he is playing only for records and just let him play, don't concentrate on him let him make records and move on with his life...so u too get a life....

He has to retire gracefully, otherwise he would be asled to fake an injury and sent out like Kapil Dev.

34 years age may not be that big Tendulkar has lost his appetite for runs and is performing just enough to stay in the team

As far as age is concerned, he can play cricket another 2 or 3 years. The only problem was his lack of form. During the Bangladesh series he has shown signs of getting back to his form and as such I feel he can continue to play for some more time. However, if he is not able to play consistently well in future, he should retire after making a good impact in ODI too.

I would say no. I see no reason for him to do so. Although his age is a fact that cannot be hidden, this is not a criteria for selection. Performance and form ought to be the only criteria for selections. And as long as he satisfies these yardsticks that are criteria for selection, he will retain his place in the team.

His recent centuries in the test matches only re-affirm that he is the top player - that his records suggest. Sachin obviously feels that he has a lot of cricket left in him and it would be criminal to retire when one has a lot to offer to the cause of the nation.

Cheers.

Though he scored two centuries, they did not bear his mark. They were very ordinary knocks against weak bowling. It is better for him to retire before stiffer opposition exposes him fully.

yes, certainly, scoring centuries against a weaker team like bangladesh does not prove that he is still capable enough to face the fierce attack at this age
