Right now I have one set of these memory sticks,

CORSAIR ValueSelect 1GB (2 x 512MB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model VS1GBKIT400

on this motherboard:

ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 SLI ATX AMD Motherboard

1) I want 2 GB in my computer, so can I get another set of these and put them in the additional slots and get 2GB?

2) If I can, what is better? Having 4 sticks of 512 or two of 1 GB?

If I got two with 1 GB, I would choose these:

OCZ Platinum 2GB (2 x 1GB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model OCZ4002048ELDCPE-K

3) The price for the new dual 512 sticks is $74 while the new dual 1 gig sticks is $166. I can get both, but I would spend all my money on the latter. Which would you choose?

First, Vista won't drag you down in any admire. 2d, it relatively is an alienware pc this means which you're paying approach too much for this technique. Take the fee and divide it partly and that's what the technique relatively expenses. i advise you progression to a close-by pc save (now no longer a field save like first-fee purchase) and have them build you an analogous rig. greater powerful pc, greater advantageous customer service, greater advantageous deal. The 512mb will run COD4 only good.

If I were in your situation I would choose the 2x512mb then spend the rest on a DX10 card upgrade (and sell my old graphics card).
