The Bible tells us that God created the birds, not eggs. So I say the Chicken came first.
However, an evoloutionst would say that the parent of the first chicken was not quite a chicken, A new step in evoloution occured producing a new species. The parent that laid the egg was not a chicken but whatcame from the egg was. So, the egg came first - according to evoloution!

Awwwww judging by your spelling you must be a little kid. How cute! This is one of those questions called opinion questions where there is no wrong answer. That is assuming you are not suppose to look up the answer in a book you are reading and give a character's opinion, if so do that instead. Otherwise you can choose which ever one you like and tell why. These kind of questions are really just to get you thinking. It does kind of defeat the point if you ask for the answer on here. You are going to get other people's opinion. As for me, I think it is the chicken. God made the chicken when he created all the other animals and then the chicken laied the rooster. You cant go wrong with that answer. And you will probably get an extra point if you go to Catholic school or something.

not to be rude but seriously work on your spelling first, you might have a class a knock out report but if your spelling is that lousy than you are still going to probably get at least a D if not an F anyways as far as which came first I have absolutely no clue, I would say the egg would have had to have come first but then again how did it get there without a chicken laying the egg first? I am sure someone much smarter than myself has the answer to this one and hopefully they will provide you with an answer and some sort of proof and explanation to their answer

I don't know why people just can't see it. The chicken HAS to come first. Say the egg came first, who's going to keep it warm? And if it does hatch, which it most definately won't, who's going to feed it? Someone has got to take care of it, and that has to be the chicken, right? So the chicken comes first.
Also, the chick will have gotton its genes from its parents. If the chicken didn't come first, then where did the egg get the genes from?

Which came first, an human ovum or a human? The answer of course is the human. By deduction than, we can safely say that there had to have been a chicken before there could be an egg.

Unfortunately I cannot point to any source, but recently I watched a TV program where they say the question has been answered SCIENTIFICALLY. And the chicken were the first. From the evolution theory point of view, the ways of giving birth to fetus have been evolving and particularly chicken started to give birth their fetus in egg-shells.

That depends on your deffinition of chicken.
If a chicken is something that lays chicken eggs then it was the chicken.
If a chicken is something that comes out of a chickens egg then the egg.
If you want an answer you'll have to decide which is more of a chicken.

It's very stupid question. Of course that an egg. Becouse dinosaurus lay the eggs too, and dinosaurus live before chickens. But their eggs were very big, can be that they were the biggest eggs in the nature world. But if we talk abaut chicken and his egg, i think first came egg, becouse the chicken came from an egg. In other ways egg come first.

I think the chicken because the chicken would have had to evolved from other animals and these animals evolved from tiny little micro-organisms that can't lay eggs but simply divide to reproduce...
