doesn't even matter as long as you have a "goal"... A man with no goals is like an explosive mine, might explode at any bumps.... it is like a gravel inside your shoe. It always hurts wherever you go...

Actually, a little of both. Some of my goals are long-term and do require the step by step. Others can be done fast and furious, leaving me with some sense of accomplishment until I achieve the big goal.

I think well rounded people should think in the short term and the long term.

A short term goal might be painting the house. A long term goal would be planning a fiscally sound retirement.

These are just examples. Sometimes just getting through the day is the only goal we have the energy for.

I believe that a short term goal is something that you can accomplish soon, for example: I want to start working out, so tomorrow I will wake up and go to the gym. They usually dont take a whole lot of effort. Long terms goals could take months or years. Usually people will make a list of short term goals that will lead them to their long term goal. Example: Im going to start working out 3x a week so I can win a weight lifting competition or be on the cover of maxim magazine.
