Believe it or not, it does. I've seen people who have lied and they have such a difficult time keeping their lies straight (it has to be hard work). And the funny thing is, they think they're fooling people. Also, a truthful person keeps a good reputation and they just seem to fair so much better in the world. I try to be a truthful person, and I think I am better off for it. Also, if I do something wrong, I just want to hurry and suffer the consequences and get it over with. It would be much worse to lie and scheme and would take so much more time and hard work.

A possible answer is..
The book of history is written by the winners..
Seen philosophically this is obviously saying that the losers were apparently batting for the wrong side...!
A few sayings that help put truth in perspective ( for me at least)
'A lie will go around the world while the truth is still pulling its boots on'
Weapons of mass destruction in Iraq ring any bells out there..?
& another..
'Oh what a tangled web we weave ,when we practice to deceive'
You see , its not about God ,its about being true to yourself...

Truth always wins……this is my way of thinking…because when you are with truth the your soul will relaxed you have a peace of mind that nothing go wrong with you because you are not wrong and no one else can blame you. If you are with you, and can face you inner spirit then you can face the whole world. You actually you lose battle or war against yourself only, not against other people. One will lose war if he can not stand in front of his spirit, when he has guilty conscious in himself and has doubt of truth to be revealed.
I really do not know about history instance over the same. But this has happened with me lots of time. When ever I say the true words, I always find my inner self with me, and this thing energized me and give me an inspiration and I feel more confident.

I would say for the most part. No! As for most us. Our versions of what we consider the truth. Are tainted by life positive and negative experience. Our biases, ignorance, stupidity and personal preferences. Lets not even get in to the fact. That historically the victor dictates his own subjective truths. Or those truths that defend their cause, nation, reality or beliefs. As pertains to historical truths or misrepresented of said truths.
Sometimes! For some; lies, misrepresentation of truths is easier, convenient and fits their legends or belief structures. There is your truth, my truth and what really happened. I would love to say there is an absolute truth. Theoretically there might be. The question is! Would anyone agree with it. Believe it! For the previous stated reasons. Not to mention recognise it. I do not think so.

Truth takes a long time to win, sometimes even a million years. Till that time humanity will be dead. So there is no one to record the victory of truth. So it remains a mystery. God is very powerful and can turn evil into truth. But he is very sleepy and sleeps for millions of years. But his alarm clock wakes him up when 50 % (about half) of the people turn evil and half good. So he turns all people into good after making them experience a thundershock.Truth always wins therefore. WARNING - If the limit o f evilness exceeds more than 50% then the demon becomes more powerful and overpowers God. So it is our essential duty to stop evil from exceeding its limit. Of course who will like to wake up God and Bear his painful thundershocks.

Truth remains true no matter the circumstances, challenges or difficulties of events surrounding it. In that sense truth always wins.
2 + 2 is always equal to 4. Nothing changes that.
But in political and social settings truth is harder to determine. Events are actual (true), but the interpretation and application of the significance of a particular event can be skewed by political, financial or personal desires. In that case truth is misrepresented or twisted to someone's particular advantage. Untruth is passed off as if it were true. If no one notices - truth loses.
And yet, truth itself is always unchanged and remains to be discovered by persons who are more careful in their analysis or more honest in their interpretation.
So I would say yes, truth always wins.

The truth always wins, ultimately. If you read your Bible and you believe in God you will come to understand this fact very clearly. Now as far as your sub-question that's extremely difficult to answer if not impossible.

Truth always sets us free. This is the rule of the court which is derive from the rule of God in the Bible. (John 8:32).
Jesus Christ said in John 14:6, "I am the way the truth and the life. No man can come to the Father except by me" In other words, "No one can have eternal life except by accepting Jesus Christ as a personal Saviour" This is the greatest truth about "Eternal Life".

Yes, it always wins! But the results are not what we look for. We expect profit/benefit for us all the times, but these days truth brings mental/eternal satisfaction and more than monetary profits. I hope you get what I mean.
