You are asking two different things. I don't believe there is anything special about being homosexual, no more than being heterosexual. That's the point of equal rights, we don't deserve special treatment, we deserve the same treatment.
The best thing about being homosexual is the ability to love who you want. Which is exactly the best thing about being heterosexual.

despite not being gay myself, i have gay parents, and i think that its not so much that its great or special to be gay, i just think that there is a lot of hardship that homosexual people endure in their lives growing up for being different and in a lot of cases ostracized by their family and friends. Today there has been a strong push to bring more tolerance to a people who feel that they have no choice for who they are and want to live normal lives like everyone else. So the "great" thing about being gay is that its starting to be okay. I hope that helps to answer your question.

There is nothing best or special about. It is just one person trying to love another. Why do so many people have to be so preoccupied with what does or does not make other people happy. Whatever happened to live and let live. Would you like to be told you could not love someone because of their height, or the color of their eyes. People can help who they love about as much as they can help these things.

Being freed from the constant, irrationally intense pressure by all of society to settle down and have children ASAP. Young people are so brainwashed to think that they HAVE TO net that 9-to-5, own a house, marry and prepare to support a family right away that many don't ever take the opportunity to enjoy youth or search for a place in the world that would truly make *them* happy.

Special about being homosexual? Umm... people hate us. We are considered confused, immature, sinful and so on. In some countries we'd be killed on the spot. What else... we have idiots making stupid answers about questions. We have idiots asking stupid questions (no offense). Basically there is nothing "special" in a good sense about homosexuality since it's the same feeling as heterosexuality. If you love someone you love someone. That's how i see it.

Feeling like your part of a community! Sure, gay people are a lil harsh sometimes. They judge people by who they with what they wear where they work and what they drive. They gossip even more than women do, I am gay but I dont run with many gay people cause they talk to much, but other than that I guess alot of gay people feel like they belong to part of a community where everyone is different, different culture, attitude, and everything.

We get to look at hot guys' asses all day. Haha.
And we get to kiss guys, which to me is one of the most beautiful things that can happen in life.
Our love just grows deeper when someone else says that we "Shouldn't be together."
I dunno, that's about it.
Why do you ask?
