I feel school uniforms help discipline students as well as increase the unity amongst them...

I dont know why u asked this question It is soo obvious.
If there we no uniforms,da students belonging to the upper class of society would obviously wear n have better things than da ones who wouldnt be able to afford the same therefore creatin a certain difference gap between them n makin the ones who did not have the same stuff, feel intimidated n upset.
Uniforms also define equality. When everyone is made to wear the same thing, they will never b|tch bout the other ones clothes...because they themselves would be wearin precisely the same thing.
Besides,uniforms are smart..

Well, personally I'd say that they aren't necessary. Some will claim the argument of "they promote equality" and "it prevents differences between upper and lower class."

If you're poor, a uniform will not hide it. Nor is there any shame on not sitting on a pile of money unless it is through fault of your own or parents directly; alcoholism, reluctance to get a job, etc.

There are things called peer mediation and such to smoothen out the gaps. Why should we take individuality out of the picture to ensure political correctness, when it is the individual whom is causing a problem due to their megalomania that could be disciplined, instead of the whole?

This is a world of the individual. Has the Renaissance's taught us nothing? When you add individuality, you introduce so many positive aspects. Discipline those who are cruel, and reward the individual.

Why should there be any shame in not wearing the latest name brand? We have what we can get; there is no shame in the way of the world. Some will have things, others not. When problems come, fix them. Take them to authority.

I say no to uniforms, and yes to individuality.
