Aliens would evolve in circumstances that are quite similar to ours.
Chemistry and such water etc.and climate.
They are likely based on some sort of DNA not much different from ours.
If you look at the variety of life on earth you can see that an alien would look like anything you could imagine including like us.

Not like the "UFO" people all claim them to look like. Do you notice that they all have the same biology as us? Like the eye and mouth in the same place as us. Or maybe like an insect? Not to creative for an such a large universe.
I even question if we know what life is. Everyone seems to believe that it has to take water. Well that might be what it takes for our kind of life, but who is to say that is what it takes for all life.
Given this I couldn't imagine what an alien would look like, because it could be almost anything.

Kinder eye's, bigger brain's, patient demeanor, more color, that is than the USA humanoid. Stronger more elastic skin, for intergalactic travel, a dual internal standby organ, resembling the king crab's leg's, which re grow faster than old limb's at birth.A group mentality like the ant kingdom where each one works for the benefit of the other, and therefore remain strong and able to survive. More highly developed eye and lobe, matching the human area of the sinus, which is nothing at the moment but airconditioning area, and most of all I hope they have sovereign ethic's, which may be example to humankind, who war's, and action's unkind to other's, radiant soul'.aura.
