Flies are actually easier to just shoo outside than they are to kill. Open a window and use a newspaper to guide them. Flies don't hurt you directly, so you can get close enough to help them outside.

I guess I think that just because my particular reflection is that a cat is cute and a fly is disgusting it is not a basis to live my life by. The fly is a creature after all, you never can predict what life would be like without them entirely.

The answer is contradictory:
Flies dispose of rotting meat and lay eggs.
The eggs turn into maggots.
The maggots are used on the end of fishing lines so that unsuspecting fish swallow them and get their guts ripped out, or their cheeks ripped open or their eyes gouged with the hook.
Then the fish is thrown back into the water.
If there were no maggots fish might have a better life.
Kill all flies and stop the fisherman`s "sport"

Yes it is hypocritical. Flies are creatures of nature too, plus they are food for many birds etc, why kill them? Put mesh at your windows if you don't want them in the house. Plus an electronic device for that? You are wasting energy and making electronic waste without a reason!

It doesn't mean that when you love nature, you become a kinda follower of nature. Man was tasked by God to dominate and to rule nature. And being a nature lover is doing your part well. I mean, many people don't care for it anymore. So we are to dominate and rule nature. We are supposed to care and control it if necessary. So these flies stay where they're not supposed to. You can drive them out or exterminate them.

You could get a Venus Fly Trap. They eat flies AND you're helping nature by growing your very own plant. Killed two birds with one stone if you ask me.

like all the other natures creations we too have to protect ourselves. otherwise we wont b able to survive. u r not going after the flies u r just protecting yourself from them. so its ok. BUT still there are other ways to keep the flies away like using window nets etc.

Flies are a filthy nuisance. I wouldn't want one on my food when it's just done a circular tour of a pig's rectum. It's them or us. Swat with vigour and a clear conscience !

We create our own values in life.

I don't needlessly harm other animals, and just ignore or relocate animals like flies and wasps. It's quite quick and effective, and nothing gets killed.

Good luck! Rob

how strange..my husband got one yesterday..and spent 10 minutes trying to get near the fly.

i was angry, it took a long time for the fly to die when he could have swatted with a newpaper and ended the suffering immediately - i hate the damn thing...and i dont think they are acceptable...even though its only a fly.
