It is used to denote 'To the Power of'.
As in 10^2 means 10 squared as in 10².
For some reason, many people do not use the 'num-lock' key of the computer and then enter the code for the superscript '2' or '3'.
Or they don't use the 'Character Set' function.
10^3 is 10³
10^100 means 10 multiplied by itself 100 times

Because of the software on yahoo answers when dealing with some of the maths. equations, it's difficult to type some of the characters as you would like. The character ^ is often used to mean power of.
10^100 means 10 to the power of 100.

That little ^ means 'to the power of'. Like
2^2
= 2 to the power of 2
= 2 squared
= 4
Something like 10^100 would be 1 with 100 zeros after it.
Hope that helps. Enjoy ^-^

It refers to powers- for example, 10^100 means 10 to the one hundredth power, or 10 multiplied by itself 100 times.
4^2 is 4 multiplied by itself twice, so 16.
4^3 is 4x4x4, so 64, and etc...

^ means "to the power of"
^ means exponential in terms that is
if the same number is multiplied then to represent it very easily we use this notation
like
2*2=4 => 2^2=4
In the same way 10^100 = 10*10*10*...................100 times
