regarding the maddie mccann case?
when this first happened, i was standing up for the mccanns all the time, even getting into arguements with people , saying how i beleieved they made a bad decision (look at my previous questions and answers)
however now i am well and truly baffled, and annoyed that this little girl is getting soooo much attention, dont get me wrong, it is very sad, and god i hope she is found safe, but what about all the other kids that are missing? they dont generate this kind of publicity, is this a case of "money talks"??
her parents are beggining to seriously grate on me too, i mean if it was me right now i believe i would be heavily sedated somewhere, i wouldnt be coping at all.
so yes i have changed my mind, its not often i do but i have, has anyone else?

I think the whole mccann situation has really got out of hand. As much as i wish for the safe return of there daughter, there is only so much media coverage a person can take. As time has gone on the more i see them on the television an now in the Sunday papers i think " what are YOU doing " to find your kid. As i would be out every day looking for mine.

And now according to the press, they are getting a meeting with the pope, and a European tour!

All for leaving there three children on there own. I'm sure there are many families who have loved ones missing who would love the media and the money to assist them in there search.

Perhaps the Mccanns should donate there profits to a missing persons charity. I supported them at first but now am just getting really fed up with the whole saga.

I'm wondering if the #24 team would still be ahead in points if it WERE under the old system, but not curious enough to run the numbers. As far as the "domination", I would have agreed with you back when they first introduced this box on wheels they call the Car Of Tomorrow, but several teams were running up front most of the day, so I think as the teams learn more about what they can and can't do, it will just get more competitive. Roush seems to have it figured out, RCR did pretty good with it, DEI made a good show of it with Truex Jr. until his tires went bad. I think overall, the race was exciting, several driver/teams had a chance to win it, and ultimately, JJ and Knaus had the best combination of driver/pit crew.

I have changed my mind a few times. I was horrified at first that ANY parent would leave children that age alone (actually I am still horrified at that). I thought that Maddie had gotten out of the window and took off by herself. However if that was the case, I am sure she would have been found by now.

IMO any of us would want to have massive publicity if it was our child. It is the media that decides how much publicity someone will get. It helped a lot with the celebrities that chimed in right away with donations and appeals.

I don't know what to think about this case. It is so odd but then I guess it is always odd to us that anyone could just disappear.

Yes, my opinion has definately changed towards them. I initially felt for them, even though they left their kids alone in a strange place. It was heart wrenching to think that someone had abducted a child from their bed. I have a 5 year old grand daughter and could not imagine it happening to her. And, if it did I think I would have had a breakdown and been commited by now, and not facing the press every day or going to see the Pope.
I'm afraid now, it's getting like Eastenders.
They must be getting advice on what to say and do, but it's wrong advice that's for sure.
They say they won't come back to the UK without her......so who will be paying for that. No one can prove she is still in Portugal anyway (I don't think she is) there is no evidence that we know of that she is still there.
Anyone tried to interview the nanny who did not go with them, and find out what sort of parents they are (whoops, I think we already know that don't we?)

They don't grate on me, but i hear they are off to Rome today to meet the pope, I don't think I'd be doing that if it was my little girl who was missing. From what the media has reported (and i know you cant believe all they say) The best theory is that she could in Nth Africa, that is where i would be focusing my attention and not doing a whistle stop tour of Europe.I don't get me wrong, it might be for reason's that we don't know that they are doing this, then if that's the case i could understand, But because of Portugal's legal system i think a lot of time and evidence have been withheld, which had it been in this country may well have been solved by now.

I totally agree with you. I was horrified that they would rather have left their children alone than 'in the care of strangers' as they put it when questioned why they did not use the babysitting service on offer at the complex, but I did feel very sorry for them.

Now I just feel resentful that so many kids go missing but that they choose to make an issue of the ones that fit the bill for a good media story. It's like Sarah Payne all over again.

Yes, it's all beginning to grate on me too.
An audience with the Pope!!! How ridiculous. Who is paying for all this?
Have you noticed how Kate McCann never wears the same outfit twice? Either she has a bottomless pit of clothes or she is getting freebies from somewhere and I'll wager that they're not cheap ones either. My sympathy is wearing a bit thin now.

As soon as I heard they left their children on their own I had little sympathy but hoped the little girl would be found. From the beginning I have felt something is not right and while like most people I would want as much media attention as poss I would be an emotional wreck and probally be sedated.

I still feel the same way as I first did - somethings not right and they are irresponsible parents......the only thing is I now think they are money grabbing irresponsible parents!!! As each new day begins I feel less hopeful about the poor girl being found so in a way I guess I do feel more anger towards the parents everyday, but my general overall opinion has stayed the same

i havent changed my mind, in the beginning I thought something didnt add up, cant put my finger on it, but you had to feel sorry for them loosing their little girl but the whole thing is now a farce, and theres still something not adding up, but they seem to have forgot about maddie they are to busy talking to gordon brown on the phone, counting the money sent in, planning a artical with hello mag, plkanning a world tour, and meeting the pope, now charles and camilla are on the band wagon, its like a sit com, they are now acting like posh and becks, oh yes and even he got in on it, and in the midst of it all maddie is out there somewhere
