Floor is too hard on my back but other than that, I'd sit with you anytime.

First, I would walk around with no stirrups and do leg exercises making sure that you are sitting properly. Then pick up the trot, and sit like you would at the walk, DO NOT tense up! Bounce with the trot, and let your legs hang, try to feel the horse and how he moves underneath you. If you need to, hold the pommel of the saddle. Once you have mastered the sitting trot w/out stirrups then you can move on to going with stirrups - which is in actuality much harder - make sure you do the same sort of thing and then start learning to wrap your leg around the horse to get your seat down. Good luck!

I prefer a nice armchair or a couch, as opposed to just plopping down on the floor somewhere, but to each his own.

I like sitting anywhere (except water lol) too but I like to lean against a wall and rest my chin on my knees.
