I heard some place that it's a common superstition that if there is a pause in the conversation at 10 minutes before the hour (or some different, specific time before the hour), Abraham Lincoln's ghost is present. I can't remember the details of this superstition (was it AL? Was it George Washington?), and it's driving me buggy. Any answers or links would be appreciated.

I know there's no such thing -- I'm trying to identify the SUPERSTITION. Thanks for your help!

Yes, it *is* Abraham Lincoln, but the time was wrong. I will give 10 points to the funniest answer. In the event of no funny answers, I'll give 10 points to the first person with the right time. I reserve the right to judge what is funny -- if you don't agree with me, go ask your own question.

(Boy, I'm so relieved -- that's been bothering me for hours, but after a dozen searches, I finally found it!)

Wow, this is creepy, I was trying to remember the same thing just yesterday. We used to make a big deal about it in school, seems like it was always 20 after when people stopped talking.

Thanks for the link to fill in my memory's blanks!
