Hi. I have always said that movies are a personal experience and what one person likes another dislikes. That's why i never take any notice of critics' reviews. Some of those old movies were overrated and a lot of them i didn't care for but some were really entertaining (to me)
I would agree with you on this one ,it was not one of my favorites either.I think the younger generation is brought up with a different style of movie expectations -special effects ,animation etc.and the old style would not interest them.Even though some of the best movies ever made in the 60s(Lawrence of Arabia,Grand Prix,The Sound of Music, Ryan's Daughter,2001 :A Space Odyssey. My Fair Lady,Khartoum,Psycho,Bonnie and Clyde,The Greatest Story Ever Told etc) would probably not interest them. The art of film making has changed forever but it is fortunate that the ones we really enjoyed at the cinema years ago are available to watch at home.
Cheers.
