Im comparing a Sempron 3200+ to intel.

Intel is more about clock cycles, AMD is about efficiency. The analogy i use is muscle car vs tuner - both may go same speed, but tuners are more efficient while mucle cars use raw force.

Anyway, a Sempron is like a Celeron, low end. The 3200 is about a 2 ghz P4 478 Celeron.

well not sure what your asking...but I would go with AMD processers:

the Sempron(AMD) is better than the Celeron(Intel) but not as good as the Pentuim 4(Intel) or Intel Core, Core 2 duo, or any of Intel's latest proccessers. On top of that the Sempron is fairly old

The Athlon(AMD) competes with Intel's Pentium 4's and it smokes the celeron.

Now AMD's Athlon X2 competes with Intel's Core 2 Duo, and I would go with the Athlon...

Now I've heard AMD is coming out with a quad proccesser (maybe it's already out, I'm not sure) and that one is suppose to compete with Intel's best proccesser: the Xeneon. But this stuff is all out of price range anyway...so it doesn't matter

Sooo anyway the proccesser that I would choose that balances performance and budget is the Athlon 3200+ (or higher)

core 2 duo processor is good in all needs but athlon that u have told me was really good athlon that is 2600+ only givesdual core processing but 5000+ gives us a processing little more than core 2 duo an du will find core 2 duo the highest price and athlon 5000+ u will find somewhat less price and i give a suggestion to buy athlon next ur mind i cant do anything.
