I guess so. But he will have to perform well as a player first to remain in the team. The viewers in the sub-continent are very demanding. He also will have to play under extra burden, especially after reaching to the world cup final and losing. His current batting form is excellent, but maitaining it going to be another story.
As far his captaincy goes, he was highly appreciated for his captaincy by the critics and ex-cricketers in the world cup. So I dont think his captaincy will lead to his downfall. It's his batting which he assure him a slot as a player and captain of Sri lanka in 2011 world cup! :-)

Well, if he shows the kind of form he is enjoying right now, then it is not impossible for him to retain the captian's place.
But that is easier said than done. A spell of horrid form just before the wc in 2011 can spell doom for this very proposition.

There, in Indian Sub-continent, will be more easy to win world-cup for Sri-lanka.
