From what I understand, it's a gambling issue. The major sports organizations try not to allign themselves with professional gambling, and giving a town that's all about gambling a sports team sends a very different message.

the trouble and amount of arrests that occured before and after the NBA all-star game in Las Vegas a few months back probably means the chance of a pro-sports team in Las Vegas is slowly dying a quick death.
I would locate the pro-team along way from the $trip if they did indeed come to town. Somewhere like North Las Vegas would be perfect imo.
There are alot more important things that vegas needs rite now other than a pro-sports team e.g.
1.Downtown (outside of Fremont Street) needs to be cleaned up considerably.
2.A new highway to ease congestion on I15 needs to be built asap.
3.The north Strip (north of the Wynn) needs to be cleaned up and projects like the 1888ft Las Vegas Tower need to be approved, rather than put on the backburner.

Sten has a problem wtih the Thomas and Mack the stadium. Was a little small for NBA standards. It is a college venue. In addition there is an issue with sports book and betting on the team in this town. That they can negotiatie.
I do not think they will build a new facility till an NBA or major sports signs a contract to play here.
Soon it will come.

I think all the leagues discourage from bringing a team to vegas because of the gambling trade. So I would say no. lol dislike all you want to... just because you want a team so bad doesn't mean you will get one. The professional leagues for years have discouraged the idea of bringing a major professional sports franchise to Vegas since it became a mid major city. There is nothing wrong about that answer its just plain facts. Never said that it was my opinion that they would rig the games but in NFL, MLB, and NBA circles bringing a franchise to Vegas is considered taboo.

Las Vegas does have pro sports, just not major league pro sports. LV does have minor league teams in both baseball and hockey.

because if they did then people would spend their money watching the games instead of going to the casinos.the business owners in vegas don't want that.another reason is that the players will be gambleing instead of practing and keep their minds on the games.
