just wondering. 12 1/2 games back in the east. The division is wrapped up and its only memorial day. Might as well make the september call ups now and get them some playing time.

I wish the Division were wrapped up. There is a lot of baseball to come and it's still only May. Let the Red Sox sweep the Yankees next weekend and we can start to talk about it, but right now, it's still too early. Recall the painful experience of 1978, when the Red Sox were 14 games up at the All Star break and let the Yankees tie it up on the last day of the season.

It's still too early to write the yankees off. I don't think they'll
win the East, but a wild card is still a possibility. Besides,
it takes about 100 games or so to see if a team has a
chance to do something. Also, booing Joe Torre was stupid.
At most, a manager can get his team 4-6 wins a year
by himself(managing). So how can Joe Torre be at fault for
the Yankees 2007 season? You yankee fans are too spoiled,
and despite what ESPN says, you are the biggest whiners....

Not necessarily true, they did take two of three from the Red Sox, who have won 15 of the last 20 games.

However, they've clearly gone in completely opposite directions since...

GM is and idiot. The Yankees have a cruddy starting rotation and a crappy bullpen. Stop spening huge money on power hitters who can't even hit. Roger Clemens is over his prime, and is way too old.

because the GM is an idiot and spends all his money on offense and than throws contracts at pitchers who are beyond their prime or just plain bad.
