No, it is not. I don't see any need for it. It diverts the students' attention from studies to songs, SMS, games and causes harm to them academically. Such divertions will affect an adolescent's life badly. Mobiles may also be misused for bad purposes like the MMS case. Children, especially boys, are playful till 18 and can damage costly mobile phones, which the parents have to bear.
If children ask for a gadget like a mobile and get it, they'll constantly pester parents as they begin to think that the pareants will give them what they want.
Not all children can afford mobiles. When some poor child sees his best buddy shunning him because he doesn't have a phone, his self - esteem is destroyed and that will negatively impact his psychology. Isn't that the purpose of school uniforms, so that all the students feel equal? Mobiles will break this equality.
I would like to conclude my saying that mobiles are important, but must strictly be with adults and are totally unnecessary for school - going children

hey not at all a necessity. it sometime swastes time. young immature students just keep on doing sms and listening songs ans waste their precious time. at some situations mobile is important but not of a necesity in a school going student life
