Bad idea. What would make wars end? I don't think it would be a world government. In that case, that would probably ensue more rebellion for power, more struggles, because individual nations or certain cultures would want to be in the power broker chair of power. That would lead to more conflicts.

A world government is good in order to settle disputes between countries with a superpower not giving the status of a mediator. It is timely for a establishment of a world body to regulate the activities of the countries especially in this age when superpowers are imposing their will against poor countries.

Globalization, will force worlds populations to do a lot of sacrifices, some of those will look very simple for some, while it will look very difficult for others...
In other words, Globalization will be a politically viable options when every nations of this world, would reach a similar economic and sociological level and values... Things that can be done only if the whole planet agree on a common goal... So we may see the emergence of such global government entity only when: Important ressources (like fresh water and arable lands) are getting ultra scarce, when all governments will become similar to one another (VERY unlikely), if we have all a common religion, and finally if we find a global threat that need the whole human ressources of our planet to be solved!

Absolutely Not! Our Constitution is what protects us from people like the UN. A world government would be a Socialist affair and regular people loose.

It's insane. It would be a license for poor countries to loot wealthy nations. Remember the old saying that "Elections are only advance auctions on stolen goods."

Bad. Very bad. It would take away the rights of sovereign nations. Individual rights would be gone.

Very, very bad.

No, Nations should not do this...ever hear of sovereignty? It will have been lost and I am sorry...I have too much pride in the Constitution and the USofA to see it go to sh*t creek because a few elites feel it would be fun to play with the pawns.
