marvan attapattu didn't play in the world cup because the selectors decided to take chamara silva ahead of him.The team was finalised and the there was fight for the last batsman b/w attapattu and silva and the selectors thought silva was better than him.well i am saying u an interesting fact.In 1996 worldcup final also marvan attapattu was told to sit which srilanka won.well,BAD LUCK FOR ATTAPATTU

There were too good players in Srilankan squad; so, there was no chance for Marvan
