Hi all,

I am now staying in a small house with my family and aunty. I brought my computer over and so now my aunty's old computer is away in cold storage (and everyone uses my computer)

Problem is, we're gonna move to another house which is waaay bigger and so my aunty will put her computer in the lounge and I will put mine in my bedroom. So, even if both rooms have the adsl ports and stuff, can we use the internet on just one router? I'm not sure if my bedroom has the ports but, yeah, I know that can be installed

I'm not really good at this but please tell me what to do thanks :)

thanks for your time

you can get a wireless router. of course, this will require you to have a wireless antenna on your computers. in case you choose to be cabled, most wireless routers now have with them several ports to hook in RJ45 cables.

Simple solution is
1 x Wireless ADSL modem router
1 x wireless card for your PC
1 x network card for auntie's PC

this will allow both PC to use internet the same time

yes
if both rooms have cat5 port built in
the ports go back to a patch panel somewhere in the house ( usally in a utility closet ), there you will locate the modem and the router ( or combo modem / router ) and patch in from the router ports to the small patch panel that goes to a given room, sounds like your new house has what is called structered wiring

yes it will work, as long as the cords are connected to the router it will work, and as long as wireless isnt out of range if you use that. but yes it works, as long as the comp is plugged into the router or into the wall which is connected to the router or modem.
