Not so good.
They seem to do better when they were drug addicts.

Well lets see, being a Cowboys fan for about 14 years now, I would say that they are in it within the next 2 years. Will they win the Superbowl? I dont know, Tony Romo is the best thing they have had since Troy Aikman. They have a considerate deep threat with Terrell Owens and Terry Glenn as their wideouts, and Jason Witten is one of the top tight ends in the league. Im not too sound on their offensive line, they did not do a great job holding up for Romo or Julius Jones, so that is what i think they are lacking. Also, their defense is strong but they still do not have that impact middle line backer like a Brian Urlacher, Ray Lewis, or Derrick Brooks. I think they get to the NFC title game this year, and possibly the Super Bowl the year after. This is as long as their defense stays healthy and T.O doesnt start his normal media frenzy that created those oh so many distractions.

Right now, I'd put the Cowboys in the Top 3 of the NFC, with Seattle and Chicago. Only time will tell who will emerge out of those three, but the Cowboys' chances are good.
Chicago's got a killer D, but Rex is about as inconsistent as a QB gets. One game he'll throw for 3 TDs and the next game he throws 3 INTs. It's humorous that people blast Romo for a bad hold, yet are blind to Rex's (far larger) problems. And expect Hester to have less impact this year, now that teams have their eye on him (remember what happened with Dante Hall after his big year?).
As for Seattle, that all depends on how Shaun produces. If he sucks like last year, or gets injured again, that could spell doom for Seattle, and then I'd move the Saints into the Top 3 instead...if the Bush-McAllister works as well as it did last year, they can be a real contender.
As for the team in question, the Cowboys, if Romo plays like he did when he started, that offense can be killer. TO seems to be much more determined this year, and Glenn and Crayton can easily make teams pay if they need to double-up on TO. Whitten can also easily be one of the top TE's in the league if they throw to him more.
As for the running game, that's their biggest question mark on offense. Jones and Barber are both great RBs, but we'll have to see how Wade uses them. I think Parcells depended on the running game too much, and I've never been a fan of the whole RB-by-committee thing.
On Defense, the Cowboys made some great offseason/draft moves that should really help them out. Their defensive line should be beastly, and the addition of Hamlin helps them out deep, allowing them to possibly send Roy Williams in on pass rushes more often. Spencer, if he starts, should also help. If they can improve their pass rush and make smarter decisions, they can be as good as the Chicago D was last year...their rush D was already fantastic.
So in conclusion, the Cowboys have a great chance of representing the NFC in the Super Bowl; they have all the right weapons, both on O and D. If their new coach (Phillips) can keep them in line, they'll be tough. Anything can happen in the NFL though...that's what's so great about the league.
It'll be interesting to see what happens in Week 3, when Dallas goes to Chicago. Will all the new pieces in Dallas be in place by then? We'll have to wait and see. Should be a great game though.

This is a hard question to ask because there is too many Cowboy haters in the world. They actually have a decent shot. Every team every year has a shot. The Cowboys have had a pretty productive offseason. They had some key pick-ups and managed to retain most of their productive players. If Romo can find some rythm and stay steady look for them to take a shot.

It depends on the coach and a couple of players who need to play and keep their mouths shut.
If you-know-who can play ball, start taking responsibility for himself, catch passes, and shut the hell up, this can possibly be a good offense. Julius Jones also needs to shut up and start running the ball. He, along with 81, talked terribly about Parcells, but Jones hasn't ran the ball well since his year he went 1,000 yards.
The COWBOYS need to be better on defense down the stretch. They need to be able to defend the pass. Hopefully, they will have a pass rush to help out the safeties and cornerbacks.
Overall, they will do well if the new coach Phillips can keep a handle on things, and Romo plays like he did earlier in the season. The Bears' will be in trouble next year, so the NFC will be open. The COWBOYS should be able to make a run in the playoffs.

Honestly, I'm not sure that the cowboys have much of a chance to make it. The Bears still will have a dominant defense, and we can't forget the 49ers and their end of the season run which I expect will carry over to this new season. However, I believe that the Cowboys will go to the conference championship.

Zero.
The 'Boys go through Parcells withdrawl, the team struggles, T.O. blows up and calls another Pro Bowl QB gay. The locker room falls apart, and yet Jerry Jones stands behind Owens because Jones is an egomaniac who can't admit he made a major mistake by signing that cancer to a huge contract.
The offense can't stay on the field, the defense wears down late in games, and Dallas finishes 6-10, third in the division, and well out of the playoffs even in the feeble NFC.

An excellent chance. They should have and could have beat Seattle last year in the playoffs. But we all know that story. Also, they have nice deep threats with Glenn and Owens. Jones knows how to pound the ball. They picked up Anthony Spencer to fill Greg Ellis' hole in the defense. One of the key reasons they did not get more wins last year was the loss of Greg Ellis. With Ellis on one side and Ware on another, it made a crazy duo. Defenses had to pick who they wanted to defend, and usually the other guy got to the ball. But when Ellis went out, teams could focus on Ware. Spencer will fill this hole and should excel there. The secondary is still improving, looking bright, and best of all... young.

20-40% chance they make the Super Bowl. Just look at the schedule and the teams in the divison. Even if the make the playoffs, they would have to have homefield throughout the playoffs. Match-ups in the playoffs.

The Cowboys have a decent team, but far from Saints or Bears caliber. I think the Cowboys get knocked out in their 2nd playoff game.
