Oh that's hard but Terms of Endearment is on of my favorite movies. I actually cried when Emma passed. I don't cry a lot. Plus I like the relationship she and her mom had.
But I loved Shirley McClain's character Ouiser on Steel Magnolias...," You are a pig from hell!!!"

How do I choose? I would say Steel Magnolias. I actually liked the sequel to Terms of Endearment, The Evening Star, better than the original. If you have not seen the Evening Star you should.

Steel Magnolias. I liked it better because it was about family, crisis, love, devotion, and comedy.
Terms of Endearment was good too, but had a little too much "Battles of the Egos" and sexual tension.

They were both great movies, but I think I liked Terms of Endearment better because it's a good representative of the bond and war between mothers and daughters.
