Don't give your number out, period.

You never know who it REALLY is.

Absolutly not. Giving out ANY personal information is dangerous. You don't know who the person is, and they could be impersonating someone. Also, not only is the transfer from your computer to the "friend" not secure, if you send the person a "comment" then anyone can view your number. Be careful, because people can do a reverse look up on your number to come up with your name, address, and other information. Don't ever give out any personally identifiable information (phone numbers, addresses, your age, etc.) on the internet, unless it is a trusted source (myspace is definately not!)

HELL NO! I don't even give out my number to the guys who hit on me in person.

I doubt there will be a long distance charge, most cell phone plans are nationwide. All of mine were and I've had one since I was 14 (5 years ago).

Don't give it out until you have talked to them alot and seen pics and a web cam. They could be some psycho pervert. At the time where you know them better, give the cell number so they can't find your house.

no way , they are probably just the spammers that keep trying to give you all those" free" ringtones. You will open you cell bill and been hit by every charge possible. Just have them I-m you.

Do not give your number out! For kids today being so smart you (you being teenagers, not YOU, personally!) scare me. The ppl who want your # might be child abusers. You don't know who you are talking to on the computer.

NO!

Do NOT give out your number to someone unless you know them VERY well.

And yes, it would most likely be long distance. Depends on your carrier

Yeah, never give out your phone number to someone online. You never know who it really is. Can be a dude.

It doesn't seem like a good idea. If you really want to make contact with someone, you might try an email account...that's less invasive.
