It was heartening to discover the 'senior' section tucked away in a corner and find there are so many around. It shows one thing, there are still lots of seniors who have retained their freshness of mind, are still open to new ideas and that's how they are here at YA. The next is to find out how to make this association and interaction meaningful. Ideas please?

it would more than likely attract more seniors if it was more obvious that there is a senior group. i only found this by good luck seems a bit tucked away

As a senior who is very young at heart, I have been spending most of my time trying to educate the "inbred" sector. Win some lose some.
To answer your question: We maybe over the hill, but oh the knowledge we posses and could pass on just by answering a simple question from another senior. Some of us may not have resources like others so we may need a simple ans. to start us on our way.
I maybe the the youngest of this group (62) but I still see that face in the mirror everyday and I swear I would cover it with a red cloth if I didn't have to fix my hair.
I love to share my knowledge and because of my thirst for it, it covers many fields.
If the younger crowd wants to join in -fine, but they must understand we will not answer disrespectful comments or questions -we too, can report misuse of this site.
Maybe this could be the start of something bigger and wonderful. Seniors on the half shell.

Yes, I am also thinking that there are interested seniors who are open to sharing information.

As a retiree myself, I have 50 years of experience to share, and I am sure there are many in the same situation.

My experience is in the area of financial planning, and if anyone has questions in that area, I invite them to review my blogsite.

I will give the address to the site to any interested party.

This 'Seniors' section is the least misspelled, most correctly punctuated, polysyllabic section of YA. What's not to love?

- Except for the drive-by postings from the inbred children with a laptop, it's refreshing.

I'll have to make my email active again...

I just fell off my chair laughing at the comment about grammar and spelling. You are so right. I spend most of my time over in religion and spirituality...I love talking about the bible....and the grammar and spelling, oh my goodness. I think text messaging is ruining an entire generation.

Nice to meet you all.

I was happy to find it too!

Don't have any ideas yet, but just wanted your other answerer that I am still awake, it's Midnight in Alaska, just now getting dark outside, it is beautiful here.

As a "senior" I love the opportunity to make fun of stupid questions, misspellings, bad grammar and general lack of knowledge.

I also have decades of experience on which to base my answers. It's fun.

Seniors like to talk. What they need to do sometimes is to listen.
