Ok. Like, if someone had my password (someone I know) and was secretely checking my email behind my back, is that illegal? I should have been more specific earlier

You know how it's like a federal offense to open someone's mail? Is email just as much of a crime?

It depends on where you are.

Where I come from it is illegal at work unless the employee is given warning that it may be done.

If you are doing it without express consent of the registered mailbox recipient, you are committing a misdemeanour offence of invasion of privacy, but if you use any information obtained and it causes damages you could be sued or even go to Jail.

Ok but see it is were you gave that person that info to get into your email stuff so it would be no illigle matter, but you might take it to a lawer and ask for advice about it.Other wise i don't know what to tell you on that one....

I'm not sure if it is illegal but it is morally wrong. Have you ever considered changing your password and not giving it to anyone?
