I know many that are in prisons, I am an inmate advocate. It would take me all day to set and tell why each and everyone was in prison.....we have many Innocent sitting in the prisons today.....many mentally ill as well.....who should be in mental institutions instead of prisons...But our government cut fundings for mental health and it forced many of the facilities to close sending the sick to prisons to only be tortured and abused.......

I have two cousins in prison and two others and an uncle that have served time. The two in prison now both hurt someone close to them badly.

The biggest reason people are locked up is drugs. Does that mean our society does more drugs or are we just too picky about locking people up? More than 2 million people or almost 1% of the population is in jail. I only know one person who was in jail for a month. He was in there for breaking probation by using coke. Me, personally, never touched the stuff!

my old man taught me to stay away from three places / people as much as i can.
(1) the hospital
(2) the courts / lawyers
(3) the cops
in other words, NO i do not know anyone in any prison, nor do i have the appetite to.

Nope. Don't know anyone. Even with "so many people in prison," if you don't hang with the drug users, losers, or impoverished people (God bless them), then your odds of knowing someone in prison goes down exponentially.

Yes. While in highschool, I babysat for a child whose father is a convicted serial killer/serial rapist who (hopefully) will never again see the outside of his prison cell.
