And if I get one, what should I get one of? If I get one, I think I'll get it across my back, like between my shoulders.

I'm really asking to see what people's opinions of tattoos are. Some like 'em, some don't. I'm not going to get a tattoo just because you all said to, and I'm not going to not get a tattoo because you all said not to. I'm not quite that immature.

And for those of you who mentioned it, I've been thinking about getting one for 8 or 9 months . . .

A tattoo should be a personal thing that means something to you. Not something to have because it is cool. If you get a tattoo from a poll on Yahoo Answers you will be sorry in 30 years (if it takes that long) and they are expensive to remove. Shoulder blades are a good place though. If you choose ppl can see it, or you can hide it for, say, a job interview.

Well, be sure and think about the future. I had a friend who had STAY DOWN across his knuckles. He is currently going through laser surgery to have it removed. he told me finding a job was hard. My wife wants me to have a ring tattoo because I can't wear my wedding ring while at work. I was told that it hurts on your fingers because the bone is so close to the surface. I've not decided to do it yet or not.

Totally, tattoos are awesome and are less painful than you think. I have 2 tattoos on my arm and chicks love them. If this is your first tat, I wouldn't recommend getting it on your back because it is a really painful spot. Get it somewhere where you have a lot of muscle buildup and it shouldn't hurt more than a cat scratch.

You have to have a reason for getting it tough, its forever and you should find something that is meaningful to your life. I got one of my tattoos with my brother to remind me of him, the other one I got because its an artistic masterpiece and I am an artist. So its your choice, but do not be imature and just get one just because it looks cool.

myself i love tattoo's and piercings at that. how old are you, i mean once they're there, they're there, i'm 32 got my first one when i was sixteen, and currently have 15, me being a female you should see the looks i get from a lot of high class motherfuckers, ha, ha it's funny, as far as what should you get that really depends on your interests, is there someone you are wanting to impress, what would they like, do you party, i don't know what to tell you for sure, do you ever watch miami ink, you can get alot of ideas, you're back is one of the best places for artwork, if i didn't already have a piece there, i'd have a complete photo of my 4 boys, those are tough.

No one else can make that decision but you. The fact that you don't know what you want to get seems like you haven't put much thought into it. Remember tats are permanent so if u do decide to get one make sure it's something u can live with for the rest of ur life. don't get something stupid PLEASE. I have 5 now and I only regret one because i got it out of anger, rather than getting something that really meant something to me. So just give it some real thought and decide for urself. And put some research into where (business wise) u'll get ur tat. and warning: tats are addictive.

Yes, if you want one, and you've given it alot of thought I think it's a good idea.

I've always wanted one myself but have always been a bit shy of actually doing it. I not good with pain, and I want to make sure what I pick and where is the best choice, cause once it's on it stays on.

Recently though I had one airbrushed on for a trial in the same spot ur describing, on the back - middle of shoulder blades and it looks really HOT there. It's discreet if you want it to be and there if you want to show it off. Only other place I would think of is on side of my abs, kinda wrapping around.

Good Luck with that!

If you want a tattoo you should get one!! Also get whatever you want, because people telling you what you should get won't make you happy. You might get some good ideas, but do whatever you want! Also remember whatever tattoo you get you will have when you are old!

Absolutely not. First of all, there is no image in this world that will have the same meaning in 10 years as it does now.

Plus, you're doing nothing but limiting yourself. There's no job or position in this world that you can't get because you DON'T have a tattoo, but there are plenty where you won't get the job if you do.

"But I'm not ever going to..." whatever you want to fill in after that phrase, you can't be 100% sure of where life will take you. Don't limit your opportunities by putting a permanent image on your body.

Only if you really want one. Do you know what you want it to be? Go to a tattoo shop and look around and think of what you want. A tattoo artist can draw something up for you if you want. DO NOT get the tattoo the artist draws if you feel "Iffy" about it.
